Power Girl by dangerousladies Power Girl by dangerousladies
For a bit I wanted to cosplay Power Girl, because I love her costume design. I decided not to, because I figured I didn't have the body for it.

And then I drafted this.

And guess what?

I think I can pull it off.

Now the question is: comics Power Girl, or do I do that cute /co/ version where it's a full body thing with pants?

I know this is gonna sound a little perverted but I'd need to see you full body or your legs to say with or without pants. But that doesn't matter because it's your cosplay just choose whatever you feel comfortable.

I think I'll do it... if I have enough fabric. I may only have enough to do the normal version.

Thank you!

Try to get more fabric too... or do the normal version first and the other later :P I'd like to see both! ^^

Oh, I'm jealous! I'm desperate to do a Powergirl costume, because A. she's awesome, and B. It's become a teasing nickname of mine >_o How did you make this? :o

I drafted a pattern myself and sewed it. Hard to get more specific than that, haha.

Thank you! XD

I'm making it out of milliskin. If you've ever seen Superman Returns, it's the same fabric they used for his Superman suit.

Yeah, you've got the body for it ... judging from these photos. ;)

two questions: Why blue? (you said it's a draft, but it's got the hole & the 3 seams ... seems like a lot of work for a draft, to me.)

What's the "/co/ pants version" you mention? ... I think I'm more than a little familiar with Power Girl & that doesn't ring a bell.

Thank you!

It's a draft. You do almost everything you do on the final copy to make sure everything works out okay. It was blue because... I had extra blue fabric!

I don't have the picture handy at the moment, but instead of having a panty-like bottom, it just extends into full pants. Only difference.

OK.
so the full pants is not based in the comics, but ... something else (just practicality for walking around a convention?). I don't know what /co/ means.

So, you just whipped it up as a draft to see? Wow, that's amazing. Seems like a lot of work for something that will never be seen. (but hey, that's just me).

I'd love to see the final result!! I hope you do it.

/co/ is a message board for comics and cartoons :) They sometimes have "draw threads" where people just draw random stuff, and someone drew her with pants. I thought it was a cute design, and more fun to make than another leotard.

Yep! Thank you :) But you know, all the best costumes only look good because the maker made drafts first to ensure the fit and lines were right. It pays off in the end.

I plan to! "When" I finish it is another story, seeing as I have eight other costumes due for next month. I might have her finished for SDCC in July :)

In the end it might come down to whichever I have the fabric for, to be honest. I don't know if I have enough white to do the legs.

I think I'd really, really like to do the /co/ version, though. It's much cuter, and I don't fancy that stupid bathing suit bottom.

You should get a tripod and a remote. The Nikon ML-L3 remote is only 20 bucks.

Bah, at least it's just a progress shot.

I have a tripod (... somewhere) but I think investing in a remote might be good too. Hum! I will look into that, thank you for the suggestion.

I... have no idea, honestly. I'm a skinny thing, so I figured I wasn't curvy enough. Apparently, a good bra and padding bumps it up nicely.

Thank you XD
